Warranty Statement for Synology Products

Channel Warranty:
  • All Synology products sold through authorized channels are subject to the standard warranty terms outlined herein. Warranty claims have a lead time of 15 to 20 working days. This warranty applies exclusively to units imported by Synology’s Authorized Partners directly from Synology Taiwan. Products acquired through unauthorized or “gray market” channels are not covered under this warranty.

Clause: Services for Gray Channel Products:
  • Al-Madina Enterprises does not provide any warranty or RMA services for products obtained through gray market channels. However, Al-Madina shall provide technical support on charge excluding warranty/RMA service for products obtained through gray market.

Support Types:

1-Year Warranty: 1-Year comprehensive warranty.

  • All Synology channel products include 1-Year Warranty: 1-Year comprehensive warranty.. For products that are out of warranty or acquired through gray market channels, support services will incur charges based on the nature of required services.

Hardware Service Level Agreement (SLA):
  • If the unit is covered under a hardware SLA contract, it will be replaced or serviced within 12 to 24 hours. For non-SLA units, the standard warranty lead time applies (see above).

Warranty Period Verification
  • The warranty period begins on the date of purchase as indicated on the purchase receipt or invoice. Customers must present the receipt or invoice as proof of purchase to avail warranty services. In the absence of proof of purchase, customers may contact the local distributor or reseller for assistance in verifying the purchase record.

Procedure for Warranty Claims
  • If your Synology product is within the warranty period:
  • Contact the reseller or agent where the product was originally purchased.
  • Follow their instructions for replacement service or further information on the replacement procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Regarding Warranty
  • I bought this NAS from another country. Can I contact a local distributor for warranty?
    No, your warranty is valid only in the region where the product was purchased.
  • May I replace my defective NAS with a different model?
    No, defective units will be repaired or replaced with the same model if under warranty.
  • Does the warranty period restart after a repair or replacement?
    No, the warranty period continues from the original date of purchase.
  • Do I need to register my product for warranty?
    Product registration at the Synology portal is recommended but not mandatory. The product’s serial
    number and purchase invoice are sufficient for warranty claims.
  • Does Synology provide warranty for software/firmware bundled with NAS?
    While software/firmware issues are not covered under warranty, our Technical Support team will assist
    in resolving issues directly related to Synology equipment.
  • If my data stored on Synology products is lost, will Synology recover it?
    Data backup is the customer’s responsibility. We recommend regular backups of critical data. Local
    dealers may assist with data recovery if feasible.
  • What is the warranty policy for Synology hard drives?
    Warranty claims for hard drives are valid only if the drives are in their original condition. Drives that are
    physically damaged or mishandled will not be accepted for warranty.

5-Year Limited Warranty: Includes 3 years of comprehensive coverage and 2 years of service warranty. *
3-Year Limited Warranty: Includes 2 years of comprehensive coverage and 1 year of service warranty. *
2 Years Limited: 1 Year comprehensive and 1 Year Service warranty.

Conditions Voiding Synology Hard Drive Warranty:
  • Drives found physically damaged or mishandled., exposure to moisture, fire burn.

    Drives with removed or tampered stickers, serial numbers or warranty seals.

This warranty policy is subject to change without prior notice. Al-Madina Enterprises reserves the right to refuse service for products not compliant with the conditions outlined in this document.

*Service warranty requires a payment of 20% to 25% of the product’s original purchase cost for replacement.

*Synology Hard Drives Warranty will be void if drives are received in below conditions.
